Natures Calendar
Spring is sprung .... but is that early or late this year? Monitoring and recording the first and last sightings, hearing or annual emergence of the natural world is known as phenology. The Wildlife Trust has been managing records since and allows all the opportunity to submit those observations.
Beacon Fell
Planning for the proposed 40m communications tower and generator on Beacon Fell has been refused. Thanks to all who signed the petition.
SlowWays Walks
We are seeing many articles talking about the well-being and creative benefits of getting outside, particularly on a social walk. This wonderful opportunity to remind us of the Slow Ways around Longridge. Slowways routes were created during lockdown as a national network of walking routes for all abilities, linking towns and villages from the south coast to the north of Scotland. With LEG involvement in the programme, Longridge is a key hub in the walking network.
Time for a spring Slowways walk to notice nature, anyone?
Eco Book Club
