Welcome to our Climate and Nature Summit Special.
This month LEG will be supporting an exciting and important event in the Ribble Valley and we would love you to be involved.
Saturday 1st July - Ribble Valley Citizen’s Summit for Climate and Nature
If you live, work or study in the Ribble Valley then this is for you.
We’re facing a global climate and nature crisis. This is our chance to work out what action we can all take to shape the future of the place we love, here in Ribble Valley.
Hear from inspirational speakers who dare us to imagine a better world, to farmers, businesses and local people who are changing things for the better. Join with others in drawing up a plan of action for realistic change.
This is just the start but - together - we can grasp the moment and claim our right to shape our future in the Ribble Valley.
We’ll be focussing on food - from farm to fork. How do we ensure we produce a secure supply of good, local food? How do we do this at fair prices so that no-one in RV goes hungry? How do we reward our local farmers and growers who produce our food in a way that supports wildlife and clean rivers?
We’ll be looking at our homes - how and where do we build in harmony with nature? How do we cut carbon while keeping our homes warm in winter and cool in summer? And our gardens - how do we work with nature and wildlife and adapt to the changing climate?
We’ll be looking forward to decide what we can do next - harnessing people power - for a fair and sustainable future here in Ribble Valley and beyond.
Our key note speaker will be Rob Hopkins, author of six books including most recently 'From What is to What If?'. Rob was voted one of The Independent's top 100 environmentalists, and earned a spot on Nesto and The Observer's list of Britain's 50 New Radicals.
Location: Trinity Methodist Church and Community Hub Parson Lane Clitheroe BB7 2JY
